Will a Golf Club Clone Work for you?
The golf club clones market is striving in the golf equipment industry. But if you think buying a clone ( a golf club that has copied the basic design of a famous brand ) at a cheaper price is good value for your money; don't snap one up, until you've read this article. What are acceptable qualities in buying a golf club clone? If the manufacturers have put their seal on the product and associated it with their corporate identity - then it's worth considering. Next, the quality of the golf club clone must be good. Look for quality and durability in the design elements. Third, you must be able to see in one glance that the golf club clone is different from the famous brand. The differences are visible. Now that you've identified the acceptable qualities, you can classify golf club clones into three types. “Inspired by” Popular Style clubs are not strictly speaking golf club clones. Instead, they are clubs that were designed to be “in the same style as” certain famous clubs. The main difference here, is that the manufacturers have established the identify of their golf clubs as separate from the inspirational golf club.
The golf club clone that is “A Lot like” is different from the Popular Style clubs in that the designer wants the buyer to be reminded of the actual design that inspired it. When you look at it, you can see the resemblances, but at the same time you can clearly identify the manufacturer. You know immediately that the golf club is from another company as the manufacturer has his logo on it. It's the third kind of golf club clone that is rightfully called “A Knock off” or “A Rip-off” that could prove to be the worse possible buy of your life. The copy is almost the exact duplicate of the famous club but carelessly constructed with inferior materials. If you inspect the logos, paint colors and lettering styles of the clones, you won't able to tell who made it. These clones may play in a similar manner due to the similar design but that is the only good thing about. And even that quality will soon disappear. Why? The shafts are often inferior factory seconds painted to look like serious golf shafts. Some knock-offs don't put real tungsten inserts and just apply an imitation paint pattern that appears as though an insert had been added. The heads may be made from cheap stainless steel formulas that will rust when exposed to dampness. The paint will fade away. Buyers be aware! Quality will always be a problem when you purchase a golf club clone. There are a lot of excellent better valued new and used clubs in the market today.
